Download BackupPilot for Windows

BackupPilot is a native Windows tool. Install it on the server or workstation where you want to run VBR, Veeam ONE, or VB365 assessments. It runs checks locally and keeps history and reports only on that machine — nothing is uploaded.

BackupPilot Windows Tool

A single native Windows app with the readiness checker, automatic recovery estimator, embedded PowerShell assessment scripts, local run history, and HTML/JSON report export. Install it on the VBR, Veeam ONE, or VB365 host where you want to run assessments.

Local-first: assessments run on the machine, and nothing is uploaded.

Install locally. Run readiness checks and recovery estimates from the app.

First run on Windows

BackupPilot is a small independent tool, so Windows SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC” the first time you run it. This is expected for new apps — it does not mean anything is wrong.

  1. If the file arrives as a .zip, right-click it → Extract All.
  2. If you see the blue SmartScreen dialog, click More infoRun anyway.
  3. Run BackupPilot as Administrator so it can read services and Veeam data.

How it works

  1. Download BackupPilot and install it on the target VBR, Veeam ONE, or VB365 host.
  2. Launch BackupPilot from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut.
  3. Select VBR, Veeam ONE, or VB365 and click Run Assessment, or open the recovery estimator.
  4. The estimator can auto-collect from VBR; you mainly set your Target RTO.
  5. Review findings, click View report, and export HTML/JSON. Runs are saved to local history.
